Securing pharmaceutical industries from problems pertaining to supply of counterfiet drugs by integration of RFID in the supply chain

The following paper is a qualitative research study on the methods that can be used to safeguard and secure the supply chain of the pharmaceutical industry. This is an exceptionally difficult task, taking into consideration, the existence of counterfeit drugs and their growing footprint over the rest of the world. This has also led to an obligatory urgency to authenticate and secure supply chains against counterfeit drugs. This article studies the scope of management information systems, particularly RFID, in facilitating such precautionary measures. The main aim of this paper is to study the applications of the RFID technology in other developed countries which could possibly help the other nations to adopt such strategy and immunize their pharmaceutical industry.

Managing post-harvest loss in fruits and vegetables by implementing intelligent cold chain logistics

The article focuses on the supply chain of fresh fruits and vegetables in the Indian market and the various post-harvest losses that take place during the inefficiency of its supply chain. The concept of the cold chain is used to describe the supply chain cycles of these fragile and perishable goods through thermal and refrigerated packaging methods and the logistical planning to retain its quality and increase its life cycle. India’s aggregate yield of fruits and vegetables is appreciably high but so is its post-harvest wastage. Thus, to curb this issue and make the sector more profitable, the cold chain needs to be efficiently implemented. However, the country faces various setbacks that disturbs the successful implementation of the same, such as, uneven distribution of cold storages throughout the country which ultimately disturbs the distribution channels, outdated refrigeration technology, unawareness about the system amongst the people involved throughout the chain, inconsistent power supply on which the cold storage systems depend on, and inability to invest in the system due high capital requirement. India also lags in providing technological up-gradation and implementation of modern-day tools like the intelligent container, smart warehouses, and better cold storage systems equipped with sensors that detect temperatures. The article highlights the problems in the current supply chain model and suggestions are given considering the existing successful techniques and methods which are nearly absent in the Indian supply chain. The article also highlights the wide potential of the cold chain industry which is also extensively supported by the Government of India that provides various incentives to influence the growth of the industry.

Mechanical and micro structural behaviour of AL-7075/B4C composite fabricated through stir casting

Aluminium alloy based metal matrix composites (AMMC) are widely used in automobiles, aerospace, shipbuilding industries and biomedical application because of their high strength to weight ratio. MMC are fabricated using various methods like liquid state fabrication, solid-state fabrication methods, etc. It was found that stir casting is an economical method to fabricate MMC. The aim of this work is to develop the particulate reinforced metal matrix composite materials by using Aluminium 7075 and reinforcing Boron Carbide particle size of 40 microns. The B4C particles varying from 2.5 wt. %, 5wt%, 7.5wt% and 10wt% the samples are prepared and tested to find the various mechanical properties like tensile, compression, and hardness and the test reports were compared with the al Al 7075as cast and heat treatment samples. The internal structure of the composite is observed using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) systems. It was used for the characterization of composites Microstructural characterization studies performed on the different compositions of composite prepared shows a uniform distribution of B4C particles at the microscopic scale with less porosity.

Role of Siddha Medicine in sports injuries – A short review

Siddha an ancient Indian system of medicine. It includes 32 Internal and External medications for treating diseases. The system includes many specialties. But in south India Siddha practitioner’s prescribed many medications to the injured persons in sports. Hence Siddha includes another unseen specialty Sports medicine. Siddha System includes all types of treatment methodologies to treat sports injuries. Internal medications especially External therapies place a major role to treat Sports injuries. Our methodologies were cured pain, edema, inflammation, wounds, sprains, muscle and ligament tear, fracture with a speedy recovery. In this study, we discussed the hidden methodologies for sports injuries specially to an Ankle sprain. Furthermore, the development of treatment methodologies will take the system worldwide.
