Design and implementation of a secure and robust voting system based on blockchain

In recent times, numerous accusations have been raised on the integrity of the EVMs used in the Indian elections. These accusations demand the need for a newer system that is in line with the present modern era and addresses these accusations. This new system must be an amalgamation of technology and trust, of modernity and tradition. It must be secure, auditable, transparent and should reinforce the confidence of the voters in the democratic election process. Blockchain technology allows for the development of a decentralized distributed open ledger. It offers features like immutability of data, the integrity of data and resistance of data to modifications. We aim to use these features of Blockchain to build a voting machine that will solve existing issues with EVMs and will be sufficiently automated.

Buccal cortical bone thickness of hyperdivergent and hypodivergent Bengali subjects in mandibular posterior region

Forms and functions of structures are two interrelated things in the human body. Bones adapt to functional forces according to Wolf's law. Our jaw bones also follow the same law. Facial divergence has been related to forces of masticatory muscles. Whereas muscle forces have been related to the cortical thickness and facial divergence, limited research has been conducted relating cortical bone thickness to facial divergence. Objectives include to asses differences in dentoalveolar buccal cortical bone thickness between hyperdivergent and hypodivergent Bengali population in mandibular posterior region. The aim is to provide reference data for orthodontists placing mini-screw implants for treatment purpose. Materials & Methods:No of subjects 40. Subjects with Frankfort mandibular plane angle more than 29° were classified as hyperdivergent and less than 21° were classified as hypodivergent. Age group is between 14 to 26 yrs.

IoT based smart garbage collection system and alert system

In megacities due to comparatively more population along with the rapid urbanization, the collection of garbage is becoming a big task. Waste management is a matter of concern, an equal involvement of the Government and the citizens is a must to manage and overcome waste management issues. With the help of IOT and with the vision of Smart cities, a simple technology can be implemented in order to improvise the current system and take a step forward towards solving waste management issues using IOT. We are proposing a smart garbage truck collecting/tracking system which is run with the help of ESP8266 and the real-time truck data is sent to the Government accessible by an MIT app through FIREBASE database system, furthermore UBIDOTS is used to monitor the garbage level within the truck with the help of an Ultrasonic sensor, which keeps sending real-time data to the app which is accessible to the government and the public of that particular area/locality. By using this method the government authority can track if the garbage truck is collecting garbage as per it route/schedule and also if a truck is a full midway an empty truck can be sent to do the collection of waste. Our system is solving two problems one is being cost efficient and the other is making sure that the garbage is picked up from all the bins in that area/region. One of the most unique features of our system is that we can track the location of the truck without using a GPS

Intelligent transport systems in India: State of the art

Road transport is the important mode of transport next to Railway transport in Land transport of India. Road transport has the advantages of low cost, connecting the most number of places including villages, accessibility to all levels of people. Indian road carries 85 percent of the passengers and 70 percent of the freight traffic of the country. Artificial intelligence (AI) is a branch of computer science that aims to create intelligent machines. It has become an essential part of the technology in road transport. Digitalization, electrification, automation and the sharing economy are fast transforming transport services. Intelligent Transport System(ITS) is a part of AI which plays an important role in making the road transport smarter by applying various techniques. This paper deals with the techniques used in ITS, ITS technologies used in developed countries, the scenario of Indian cities where congestion is the main issue, participation of government organization in ITS, utilities of ITS in India and Sensing technologies used in ITS.

Open Data Cube: Future of EO satellites

The Open Data Cube (ODC) is a network of individuals and associations building ability for working with earth perception information. At the center, the ODC is a product library and set of order line devices. What's more, keeping the center together we have a gathering of associations working together on technique and who may keep up particular usage of the ODC. To study the Earth Observation data, ODC is playing a great role which will help scientists to make a confident conclusion.
