Photocatalytic concrete pavements: Laboratory investigation of NO elimination by using TiO2 and flyash

In recent years there is a change in atmospheric condition. One of the major reason behind this change is air pollution which is increasing day by day. Air pollution is mainly due to rapid industrialization and increases in a vehicular transportation system. The major components of air pollution such as SOx , NOx, CO, and many other gases are released due to the combustion of a vehicle engine. In developing country like India, roadways play a key role in the transportation system. Hence to curb the effect of this transportation system on our ecosystem new ways of elimination of this pollutants shall find out. Hence an attempt is made in this research to construct the pollution absorbing pavements i.e. to construct such pavements which will absorb these harmful pavements. The main aim of this research is to investigate the elimination of NOx i.e. Nitrogen Oxides by casting pavements of Cement, Flyash, Recycled Glass and Photocatalyst such as TiO2, i.e. Titanium Dioxide or Titanium (IV) oxide under varied conditions

Magnet engine: An environment-friendly approach

The developing of Internal combustion engines and also demand is growing for the need of Fossil fuels for vehicles . present a lot of emissions came from the combustion engines, so humans heading for electric vehicles. The scenario of travelling is changing rapidly with metros, electric rails, electric aeroplanes (solar),..etc. Hence we require products with more power but also with higher efficiency. Magnetism possesses a magnificent opening for development. Bullet trains using the technology of magnetic levitation have proved the strong nature of electromagnetic fields. Keeping in mind the arising needs of the industry, in this project I tried to design and experiment, a system called Magnet engine, which make use of magnet repulsion force to drive .The working principle is based on repulsion force from both permanent magnet and electromagnet. The combined repulsive forces will develop the power strokes in each cycle and to generate the mechanical power .successful implement in this field can actively switch over internal combustion engines.

Parameters optimization of fused deposition modelling process for the improvement of tensile strength using Taguchi based grey relational analysis

FDM is an additive manufacturing method and the prototypes are made by layer by layer addition of semi-molten plastic material onto the platform from bottom to top. The design inspects the effect of the process parameters layer thickness, orientation and layer spacing that affects the tensile strength of the part produced by the Fused Deposition Modelling. Hence, the Optimization of these process parameters of FDM is able to make the system more specific and repeatable and such progression can guide to use of FDM in rapid manufacturing solicitations rather than only producing prototypes. The PLA material was used in this research work to build parts. The experimentation has been completed with the help of Taguchi L9 orthogonal array. Taguchi grey relational analysis is used to optimize the process parameters on multiple performance characteristics such as tensile strength. The proposed method enables decision analysts to better recognize the complete evaluation process and provide maximum tensile strength.

Analytical method development of Bromacil + Terbuthylazine pesticide (combination) formulation by Reverse Phase High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (R–HPLC)

The combination of the two molecules (Bromacil & Terbuthylazine) is being used effectively as a weedicide worldwide due to its unique way of acting to kill the weeds. Since these two molecules (Bromacil & Terbuthylazine) has very good penetrating power in the earth crust, it is very important to get analysed for its identification and quantification to determine the shelf life in the substrate by detecting the minimum residue level (MRL) in the existing substrate. A simple HPLC chromatographic method has been developed and subsequently validated for the combination pesticide (Bromacil + Terbuthylazine) separation and quantification. These molecules were separated through a mobile phase consisting of the mixture of acetonitrile and water ratio of 80:20 v/v. The separation was achieved through the Qualisil BDS C18 (250 x 4, 5μ) column with the flow rate as 1.0 ml/min with the detection at 220 nm. These method parameters were loaded in the Shimadzu HPLC (model: LC-2030). The LC solution Shimadzu software was used for all the calculations in this analytical method validation analysis. The results of the study showed that the proposed RP-HPLC method is simple, rapid, precise and accurate, which is useful for the identification and quantifications of these molecules interims of validation parameters viz., separation, system suitability, System Precision and linearity in a simple HPLC analysis.

Operations research in franchising decisions

Decision making as a progressive and analytical method in operations research serves the basis for estimating potential outcomes for any given subject matter. The objective of any rational business to stay competitive is to optimize while deriving maximum utility. For an F&B industry, adapting to customer tastes and preferences is a highly challenging task. An aggressive industry in itself, the feasibility of the many different options through quantitative and qualitative analysis holds prudence. To enhance decisions, assignment problem as a technique helps to derive relevant conclusions, as in this case, the optimal assignment of a franchise with respect to its location on the many influential factors. This justification provides a necessary breakdown of how any firm facing expansion can consider the options available.

Paradigm shift of administration in working finance – With special reference to Indian commercial vehicle industry

Working finance is concerned with the administration of current assets and current liabilities and their interrelationships. Working finance is the prime source to meet the routine expenses of the business. In the event of working finance being ill-managed; the viability of a company may be jeopardized. It is desirable that a company has neither inadequate working finance nor the excessive amount of it. Hence, there is an imperative need for effective management of working finance. This study attempts to examine the efficiency and effectiveness of working finance employed in the Indian commercial vehicle manufacturing sector. A cross-sectional analysis of the Indian commercial vehicle manufacturing industry from the period 2000-2001to 2009-2010 indicated that the mean value of working finance of Ashok Leyland Ltd. (ALL) was higher than that of other companies. However, the variation was more in Tata Motors Ltd (TML) than in other companies. The TML was superior in the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) with a value of 1255.94. This indicates that the operating efficiency of Tata Motors Ltd. is better than of others and the risk-bearing power is also higher while growing companies require huge amounts. Nowadays leading companies are able to generate cash within short periods of time. So they maintain their working finance at zero or negative level. That is one of the reasons why companies’ actual values of working finance are not matching trend values of working finance
