Eliminating poaching by using machine learning algorithms and thermal imaging

The project intends to propose a low-cost system that can be used to eradicate poachers in large, restricted areas. Poaching is a huge problem and constantly looking for different methods to eradicate it is in fact very necessary to protect the species from being extinct. The project involves creating an electric pillar-like structure that uses thermal imaging and face recognition techniques to help detect humans and faces in restricted areas. Poachers can be detected at night using thermal imaging techniques. Machine learning algorithms such as Eigenfaces, Eigenvalues, and Fisherfaces are extracted using OpenCV which can be used to detect and store the recognized faces.

Analysis of different characteristics of concrete made with recyled aggregate

The recycled concrete aggregate has limited application as fill and subgrade material below the foundation of structures, pavement, etc. these applications are non- structural applications. However, research has been ongoing all over the world especially in Japan, China, European countries and some parts of India also, from the last 50 years in order to find the potential implement of recycled aggregates as a structural grade concrete. The research work on mechanical and durability characteristics of concrete made with recycled aggregate concrete is presented here and is one such attempt to establish the RAC as a structural grade concrete. This research work focuses on mainly four structural properties of concrete i.e. Compressive Strength, Split Tensile Strength, Acid resistance test and alkalinity resistance test In this present study the experimental concrete making without fiber and with fiber. The natural coarse aggregates are replaced with Recycled coarse aggregates at different replacement ratios. Four replacement ratios are considered in this present study 0%, 20%, 40% and 80%. Based on the results obtained it is found that on the addition of steel fibers there is an increase in almost all the structural properties of normal concrete and concrete made with recycled aggregates.

Study of operations research in warehouse and logistics

Logistics and warehousing is an important part of an industry. it is required in almost ever industry, few of those being automobile and defense. This paper highlights the methods and the types of logistics as well as it discusses the problems and issues faced. It also mentions and discusses all the methods to minimize cost and how some of the methods can be problematic. Green Logistics are also mentioned as they are quite important in the point of view of CSR activities as well as the environment and the goodwill they protect.

Operations Research in logistics, supply chain management and warehousing in the retail industry

This paper analyses the applications of Operations Research in various forms and techniques in the sector of Retailing, Indian and International. Retailing is the fastest growing sector with a lot of scope for improvement. The expectations of the customers from this sector are very high and so in order to sustain, the firms need to satisfy the demands efficiently. Along with this they also need to maintain their costs and at the same time generate higher revenues. To establish our points, we will be focusing on the few main aspects of Retailing such as Logistics, Supply Chain Management, and Warehousing and thus show how Operations Research techniques like transportation, simulation, the analytical model can be used to decrease costs, hence making more profits and improving efficiency in totality.

Application of Operations Research in the pharmaceutical industry

The flux of pharmaceutical industries has altered a lot over the last 30 years. Innovation is extremely necessary for such industries and this innovation comes from research & development. Operations Research is needed as drugmakers around the world want to manage cost, quality and speed. Maximising the efficiency of production, labour and equipment is an important way for top-quartile drug makers to break out of the pack. The purpose of this research paper is to highlight OR approaches used in the pharmaceutical industry, that are backed by statistics, and observe the changes related to this industry, over the years. We went through qualitative research papers and gathered various mathematical models that link Operations Research with the current happenings of the Pharmaceutical Industry. The paper illustrates the main issues related to optimization in the industry and how science and technology help to overcome them by making the right forecasts and decisions.

RFID enаbled Smаrt cаb pаyments

When аttempting to creаte а fully functionаl cаshless pаyment system, one must consider the potentiаl bаse communicаtion softwаre thаt cаn be used to implement the sаme. Of аll probаble cаndidаtes, for cаrd-bаsed trаnsаctions, two cаndidаtes stаnd fаr аbove the rest in terms of efficiency, cost-effectiveness, аnd overаll scope for the future: Rаdio Frequency Identificаtion (RFID) аnd Neаr Field Communicаtion (NFC). NFC is а set of communicаtion protocols thаt enаble two electronic devices to estаblish communicаtion when they аre brought within 4 cm of eаch other. RFID uses electromаgnetic fields to аutomаticаlly identify аnd trаck tаgs аttаched to objects. This tаgs hаve informаtion stored in them previously, thаt hаve been stored electronicаlly.
