Synthesis of hybrid molecules of isoxazole derivatives in search of new anticancer drugs – A review

Nowadays, the term ‘hybrid drugs’ come to have recognition in the pharmaceutical field as they can potentially overcome most of the pharmacokinetic drawbacks and used in the treatment of many diseases. Discovery of hybrid anticancer drugs with high therapeutic activity leads to trigger two or more cytocidal pharmacological mechanisms of action acting in synergy to inhibit tumor growth. The review showcases the research that is at the prime edge of hybrid anticancer drug discovery. Isoxazole and its derivatives are an important class of heterocyclic compounds show a broad spectrum of biological activities which have made them significant structures. A modification in their structures by incorporating heterocyclic ring to the isoxazole moiety has offered a high degree of diversity that has manifest beneficial for the discovery of hybrid molecules of isoxazole derivatives with potent activity. Thus this review explains the various synthesis of different isoxazole hybrid molecules and their evaluation of the anticancer activity.

Intervention of civil engineers in construction of geothermal ventilation system in silkworm rearing house

A study was conducted to ascertain the structural break in production with introduction of new technologies in construction and design of rearing house and related civil engineering structures in sericulture industry. A study was carried out to know the present status of rearing house structures, designs, input cost and various other parameters related to construction of rearing house for rearing mulberry silkworm Bombyx mori Linn. in Western parts of Maharashtra. The major challenges now facing in the sericulture industry are the methodologies for construction of low cost rearing house by adopting different pre-fabricated techniques. Its adoption, economy and stability are the prime requisites of any structural design which gives the stable and economical structure to increase cocoon productivity. The present paper is an investigation on new techniques and materials which can be strength parameter to increase silk production in India. The present study consists of the new innovative ideas for the design of rearing house such as cooling by geothermal ventilation systems for relative humidity and temperature control. Hatkangale taluka of Kolhapur district was a study area. The present study will be useful to double the sericulture farmer’s income by adopting new technologies for construction management of silkworm rearing house. The details are discussed in the paper.

Experimental performance on 100cc SI engine using acetylene as a fuel

Studies reveal that Acetylene gas produced from calcium carbide (CaC2) is renewable in nature and exhibits similar properties to those of hydrogen. A fixed quantity of Acetylene gas is aspirated and then we will take readings at various loads. Our focus is on less smoke production through emission and a better environment. In the experimentation on engine, we have used Acetylene gas to run the engine without using petrol or any other secondary fuel. This acetylene gas is formed by a mixture of calcium carbide (CaC2) and water. Calcium Carbide is formed by limestone and coal. To form the acetylene gas by using the few grams of calcium carbide and some amount of water which is mixed in reaction tank which is made-up of using Mild steel; because when CaC2 and H2O are get mixed, within the fraction of second this mixture will form an inflammable gas. While the handling of this gas safety is required. We have used this gas to run the engine. The engine drive shaft was attached to the Rope brake dynamo-meter and slowly applied to the weight on dynamo-meter and calculate the various parameters.

Experimental studies on concrete utilising red mud as partial replacement of cement

The Bayer Process for the production of alumina from Bauxite ore is characterized by low energy efficiency which results in the production of significant amounts of dust-like, high alkalinity bauxite residues known as Red Mud. Red mud is produced almost at an equivalent mass ratio to metallurgical alumina and is biased into sealed or unsealed artificial confinements, leading to crucial environmental issues. It contains oxides of iron, titanium, aluminum, and silica along with some other minor constituents. Presence of Alumina and Iron oxide in red mud compensates the absence of the same components in limestone which is the essential raw material for cement production. Based on economics as well as environmental related issues, massive efforts have been directed worldwide towards red mud disposal issues. The project work spotlights the suitability of red mud obtained for construction. Five test groups were constituted with the replacement percentages 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% of red mud with cement in each series. To achieve Pozzolan’s property of Red Mud. This paper points out another encouraging guidance for the proper utilization of red mud.
