Assessment of self-efficacy beliefs and academic performance for sources and implications in high and low achieving secondary schools in Mbarara district, Uganda

The major purpose of the study was to assess the relationship between self-efficacy beliefs and academic performance between high and low achieving secondary schools in Mbarara District. The study also explored the sources related to the academic gap that informed implications towards narrowing the academic gap between high and low achieving secondary schools. The study was mainly quantitative and used the sequential explanatory paradigm. Questionnaires were used to gather data from three hundred participants. Interview responses were analyzed to supplement the information collected through the questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the computer package known as Statistical Package for the Social Sciences version 20. The findings of the study showed that there are very weak negative correlations between self-efficacy beliefs and academic performance in low achieving secondary schools r (148)= -.163, p=.047) while high achieving has weak corrections r (148)= -0.203, p=.013) which is significant. The study, therefore, recommends that students could be encouraged to practice adherence to moral self-sanctions while teachers evaluate and consult on performance so that students gain confidence and assurance to achieve academic success. Furthermore, the findings of the study have sources for differences in principal passes that effect inequitable admission to public universities. Also, the findings informed implications towards narrowing the academic performance gap between high and low achieving secondary schools.

Design of low power and high-performance Carry Save Adder and Ripple Carry Adder using pass transistor logic

Adders are the central structure square of any processor or data way application. For the arrangement of prevalent getting ready units quick adders with low power use is required. To structure viable joined circuits the extent that zone, power additionally, speed has become a troublesome endeavor in present day VLSI design field. In this paper the power and delay modified pass on save snake is differentiated and the standard Carry Save Adder (CSA) and the Domino method of reasoning based CSA.And moreover theproposed justification CSA is thought about and the Ripple Carry Adder and Carry Bypass Adder. The proposed arrangement is endorsed by execution of 4 piece Carry Save Adder in a standard 90nm CMOS advancement. This circuits is executed using DSCH Tool, Microwind Tool.

Air traffic Control of US domestic flights

With the increase in data and especially air traffic data, it is increasingly becoming difficult to handle the same. It is important not just to handle the data to get the necessary output, but also to maintain the integrity of the data. Hadoop is a framework that we have used as it provides reliable services for the data in concern. MapReduce can be used to provide apt management of a large amounts of data and it can be used as a filter to generate useful insights. Machine Learning on the other hand is used for the recommendation portion of the project. Machine Learning helps in identifying the patterns in the data which might not be visible to the naked eye. It then is used to make useful predictions and correct recommendations based on the data in consideration.

High purity germanium detector radioactivity monitoring for defected fuel detection in Indian Pressurized Heavy Water Nuclear Reactors

Operation of Nuclear Reactor with defected fuel can result in excessive radioactive contamination which makes maintenance work around the heat transport equipments, piping and tubing very difficult. Besides, increased release of fission products, in turn, increases the radioactivity levels in various areas of Reactor Building and also the radioactivity discharged to the environment which can affect people and disrupt safety. Presently in the Indian Pressurized Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs), the presence of failed fuel in the core is detected by offline measurements of I-131 activity in the heat transport system and Delayed Neutron Monitoring System. These systems have limitations of being sample based systems which continuously cannot monitor the increase in radioactivity due to fuel failure. High purity germanium detector monitoring is proposed by me as an introduction of continuous monitoring of fission product activity which will increase the efficacy of the Nuclear Reactors in detection of defected fuel thereby increasing the safety of the plant.

The forgotten gem

In the growing concern of awareness regarding Sustainable building materials and environmental issues related to them, Compressed Stabilized Earth Bricks (CSEB) is the environmental friendly building and sustainable material we can rely on. Earth as a building material is already known for centuries .It turns out that Compressed Stabilized Earth Bricks properties can be easily compared with the properties of concrete blocks and normal fired bricks. Selection of materials during the design plan leads towards more sustainable construction. This paper reviews some advantages of eco friendly materials such as Compressed Stabilized Earth Brick over other economic and technological benefits.
