Landfill site selection with spatial suitability analysis and multi-criteria decision making in Devchuli municipality

Solid waste management (SWM) being an important aspect of infrastructure development defines the state, status of urban development in terms of other co-related aspects such as Political, Environmental, Socio-Economic, and Technological as well. The prevailing Landfill Site in Devchuli Municipality needs to be assessed in terms of various criteria as the needs of rapidly growing and emerging cities are changing. Moreover, the landfill site is a public decision and requiring inputs from various stakeholders and groups in compliance with the participatory approach involving various voices for complex decision making. Geospatial Technology and its applications can be used in these sorts of Assessments. The multi-criteria decisions are based on various aspects as suggested by previous researchers. The combination of these criteria and the use of Geospatial Technology allows us to assess the suitability of the Landfill site. The output will be able to find out the challenges and give a clear vision for further research.

Application of Operational Research in Optimization of Agricultural Sector

The goal of this study is to see if operation research approaches are suitable and applicable to decision-making in farming. The methods and principles of operational research can be applied to agriculture and development in a variety of ways. The process and problems are investigated as to how operational research can be put into use in the manner to optimize value. The technique of integrating advanced logical theories and models to aid in better decision making and resource utilisation is termed as operations research. This research is focused on the use of operations research methodologies in the realm of agriculture. They are used in a variety of elements of agriculture, including day-to-day decisions made by farmers such as selecting the best grain, farm planning, cost reduction and profit maximisation on a single farm, and crop production and transportation. This research study uses scenarios and issues to demonstrate several Operations Research theories and models applied to agriculture.

Optimal holiday destination selection

It is important for people to select the proper leisure destinations to spend their vacations. Each vacation location would have its own expenses, own entertainment, and own risks. Thus, wisely selecting the proper destination to spend a vacation is of paramount importance for any person for phycological reasons. In this paper, we formulate the holiday destination selection as a mixed-integer programming model (MILP). We also show how to solve this problem using a simple meta-heuristics, a max-min ant system (MMAS). The MMAS shows that it is an effective way that people can use to select holiday destinations. The suggested algorithm can be used as a base for a mobile application that people all over the world can use for their holiday planning.

Application of Operations Research in Human Resource Management

We wanted to see how operational research may be used in the subject of Human ResourceManagement in this study work. It has long been a known fact that when work is done without the use of any scientific equipment, humans are prone to make mistakes. After conducting extensive research in the field of human resource management, we discovered that training, selection, recruiting, and other activities in many businesses are based on bias and partial perspectives. We also discovered that the average capital invested in training and development programs is significantly more than it should be. This prompted us to link the concept of organizational research to Human Resource Management, namely, maximizing happiness at the lowest possible cost. With this goal in mind, we set out to study previous articles to learn more about how firms are already employing OperationsResearch techniques. Operations research (OR) is a problem-solving and decision makinganalytical method that is effective in the management of businesses. Problems are broken down into simple components in operations research, and then the mathematical analysis is used to answer them in predetermined steps. The future of decision-making is OperationsResearch. In this context, operational research serves a critical role in enhancing management productivity and ensuring that scarce resources are managed more effectively. The existing state of the art in India is compared to its potential in terms of economic incentives and disincentives, social, cultural, and political considerations, computer availability and usage, OR staff availability, and current management approaches.

Career discrepancy and subjective well-being among undergraduate students in close liaison to career decision self- efficacy

The current study aims to establish a possible relation between three variables: career discrepancy. career decision self-efficacy, and subjective well-being. Respondents were 86 subjects currently enrolled as undergraduate students within the territorial boundaries of India. Subjects were to answer items present in the three forms while filling in certain demographic details. The current study had four hypotheses; a negative correlation between career discrepancy and self-efficacy; a positive correlation between self-efficacy and subjective well-being; a negative correlation between career discrepancy and subjective well-being; and career discrepancy and self-efficacy significantly predicting relationship with subjective well-being. Results concluded a significant agreement with the hypothesis, but all correlations were weak. Multiple linear regression revealed a moderate level of prediction, with both career discrepancy and career decision self-efficacy significantly predicting the subjective well-being
