Plagiarism in academics has become a growing problem throughout the world. The paper aims to discuss with an overview of plagiarism. The author also highlights various other issues namely academic offenses, UGC guidelines, preventive measures, standardize policies to safeguard students – from the point of view of plagiarism. The author also throws light on the emerging role of librarians in order to protect students from committing plagiarism.
