Abstract

These days, quality is extremely important for breweries, and if the quality of the beer is poor it may result in loss of customers. Therefore it is important for a company to define what quality means for them, and what needs to be done in order to achieve respectable quality. Quality management systems are implemented in order to help companies achieve the quality goals they have set for themselves, and also help in determining the responsibilities for the quality manager and the employees in terms of quality control. The commissioner of the work was Manav Brewery, which is a small sized brewery located in Ghaziabad. The company did not yet have complete methods on how to ensure the good quality of their products, which was the foundation for this work. The aim of the work was to create SOPs for the brewing process, and in this way improve the quality control of the process. The brewing process is a complex and sensitive process, and every step is important and has to be completed successfully. Mistakes during one of the steps will have an effect on the whole process and in the end also on the product quality. Therefore SOPs are implemented to ensure no variation in quality.
